Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
My wife Jackie and I wanted to express our joy at being appointed as your Pastor at Bethel UMC. We take this responsibility very seriously as I recognize that I am held accountable by God for both my leadership as well as ministry while serving you.
As your pastor, I see my job unfold into three distinct areas: preaching/teaching, leading, and serving. My preaching style is story-telling. My sermons are as Scripturally informative as they are culturally relevant today. We love to laugh and share the love of Christ with all people!
Secondly, I have been called to lead Bethel UMC. Jackie and I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning about the traditions that you hold dear at Bethel UMC. We are honored to be a part of your 175-year legacy and hope that you will allow us to guide you into the next chapter of loving God and loving others.
Thirdly, I recognize my role as a servant leader to the congregation. It is important that we learn to love one another, assume nothing, communicate well, and offer each other grace as we begin this journey together.
My wife and I have been married for thirteen years and have no children. I feel especially blessed in this marriage as I found a woman that loves hockey. My wife loves to paint and do crafty things. We love the life God has given to us and will share that joy with all of you.
You can reach me via email; firstname.lastname@example.org. Jackie and I are truly elated and cannot wait to join you in July.
In His service always,
Pastor Don Zlaty
